Dakota Forward Justin Williams Signs With Sacramento Kings

GREENVILLE, S.C., Jan. 5, 2007 — The Sacramento Kings signed forward Justin Williams to a 10-day contract, Kings’ President of Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie announced today. Williams is the second GATORADE Call-Up today and the third this season.

The Seattle Sonics signed Sioux Falls forward Andre Brown to a 10-day contract earlier today and Fort Worth guard Kelenna Azubuike was signed by Golden State on Jan. 2. In all, 51 players have been called up 71 times since the league began play in 2001-02.

At 6-10 and 230 pounds, Williams averaged 12.1 points (.556 FG%, .581 FT %), 12.3 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game through 12 outings with the Dakota Wizards of the NBA Development League. His per-game rebounds (12.3) and blocks (3.1) averages led the league.

Williams, who enjoyed a two-year collegiate career at Wyoming, played for the Kings in the 2006 Toshiba Vegas Summer League and was signed by Sacramento (7/24/06) at the beginning of the 2006 Training Camp.
