OPEN AUDITIONS FOR AGES 7 TO 17

THREE TEAMS IN 2012/13

Come and try out for the city's most prestigious dance team for young dancers! If chosen as a member of the Sixers Jr. Dream Team, you will perform on the court during the Sixers games and represent the organization at other promotional events.

Ages: MINIS (AGES 7 -9) JUNIORS (Ages 10 to 13) PRE-PROS (Ages 13 to 17)

(Cross-over of age 13 at discretion of directors)

Dates/Time:

This year all those wishing to audition must attend a Dance Day Camp or Overnight Dance Camp. 2011-12 Jr. Dream Team members need not audition but must attend camp. Auditions will be held during the camp, and finalists will be notified within 10 days of the auditions. All dancers must then attend the final auditions consisting of all of those selected from all of the day or overnight camps on Wednesday, September 5th at 6:00 pm at Touch of Class Dance Studio in Broomall, PA.

Coaches

Dana

Dana is originally from Peoria, IL where she received her Bachelor�s Degree in Finance at Illinois State University. While attending ISU, Dana was a 4yr member of the Redline Express Dance Team, and also danced in the Arena Football League for 3 years. She attended ProDance workshop in Las Vegas where she met Debbie Apalucci and the Sixers Dancers. Their professionalism & talent drew Dana�s attention and she knew at that very moment, this was the NBA organization in which she wanted to continue her dance career. Dana relocated to Philadelphia and became a 5 year, 2 year Captain of the Sixers Dancers. Dana has danced back up for Jon Bon Jovi, Chubby Checker, performed in the Macy�s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and also premiered in videos of local artists. This will be Dana�s second season coaching the Sixers Jr Program.

Jillian

Jillian Gonzales, a Philadelphia resident, graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts from the School of Communications and Theater. Jillian is no stranger to the Sixers organization. She was a former member of the Sixers Dance Team from 2000-2006. During her six years on the team, Jillian performed with music artists such as, Destiny's Child, Pink, Ludacris and Jermaine Dupree. She was a dancer in the NBA All Star Game in 2002 and had the opportunity to travel to Mexico City, Mexico and Fort Hood, Texas with the team.

In Jillian's final year as a Sixers Dancer, she was elected Co-captain of the dance team. She has also worked with the Sixers Dance Camps for children and has tremendous experience in teaching dance workshops to professional dancers, dance studios and local schools. Jillian was the Dance Team Director for the Philadelphia KiXX Indoor Soccer League from 2008-2010.
